If you can’t get videos to play on YouTube right now through the platform’s mobile app or desktop platform, you aren’t alone. Shortly after 7pm ET/4pm PT, reports of YouTube playback errors started to emerge in various regions around the world.

According to Downdetector, a reliable crowdsourced platform for app and platform outage reports, by 8pm ET/5pm PT, roughly 350,000 users reported being unable to access Google’s video streaming platform.

When a YouTube video is clicked on desktop, an error message that reads “An error occurred. Please try again later” appears. On Android and iOS, a “Something went wrong” notification pops up.

The outage seems to impact YouTube, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV, according to Downdetector’s reporting. For what it’s worth, YouTube is still working fine for me on desktop and through the platform’s iOS app (I’m located in Canada in the Toronto area).

It’s unclear how widespread the issue is. Pocket-lint has reached out to Google for comment. This story will be updated with more information as it becomes available, including when YouTube’s services come back online.
