The Washington Capitals announced a trade for centerman Pierre Luc Dubois and are sending goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Los Angles Kings. This trade has 0 salary retention on either side, and also locks up a first line center for the team that is much needed. Kuemper who struggled during his time in DC is getting a change of scenery which should help revitalize his career. Dubois signed an 8 year contract in 2023, which means he is a long term solution to a lingering problem the team has. Last season with the Kings he scored 16 goals, had 24 assists for a total of 40 points and a +/- of -9.
