Who is the all-time top scorer for the Toronto Maple Leafs?
The most prolific scorer in the history of the Maple Leafs is Swedish centre Mats Sundin, who represented the team from 1994 all the way until 2008. He scored 987 points, with his 1996-97 season being a career best for points with 94 scored. Sundin has also scored the most goals in the history of the franchise with 420, and, as a tribute to a genuine great, his jersey number 13 was retired by Toronto in 2013.

The active player who has earned the most points for the Maple Leafs is Mitch Marner, who was the team’s 4th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft – one of the best NHL draft classes of all time. Marner has scored 741 points for the Leafs since his debut in the 2016-17 season, having played four 90-point seasons since. He broke the 100-point mark for his first time in the NHL over the course of the 2024-25 regular season, making him 5th most prolific scorer in the league that year.

1. Mats Sundin
Not only is Mats Sundin the highest point scorer for the Leafs of all time, but he also holds multiple other franchise records as well. His 420 goals are the most in the team’s history, while he also has the most assists by a Leafs forward of all time, with 567.
2. Darryl Sittler
Throughout his 12 seasons playing as a centre for the Leafs in the 70s and 80s, Darryl Sittler scored 916 points – made up of 389 goals and 527 assists. He is also the franchise’s leader in hat tricks, with 18 three-point games under his belt.
3. Dave Keon
A key player for the Leafs in the 60s and early 70s, Dave Keon’s consistency led him to rack up 858 points for the team. With 365 goals scored and 493 assists, he led the Leafs to four Stanley Cups: three consecutive wins from 1962 to 1964, followed by another in 1967.
4. Borje Salming
Swedish defender Borje Salming holds the impressive title of the Leafs player with the most assists in the franchise’s history. Of his 768 total points – the most points for a Toronto defenceman of all time – 620 were assists versus 148 goals. This also makes him the franchise’s top goal scoring defender.
5. Mitch Marner
The highest scoring active player for the Maple Leafs, Mitch Marner has already racked up 741 points across his career at Toronto – made up of 221 goals and 520 assists. He has also become the franchise leader in empty net goals, having scored 15 since joining the Leafs in 2015.
6. Auston Matthews
Another active Leafs player to have broken the top ten, Auston Matthews leads the pack as the current Toronto player with the most goals scored. Out of his 727 career points for the team, 401 have been goals, making him the second-most prolific goal scorer in Leafs history behind Mats Sundin.
7. George Armstrong
One of the longest-tenured Leafs players in the early history of the franchise, George Armstrong joined the team in 1951 and continued playing for them until his retirement 20 years later in 1971. He scored 713 points for the Maple Leafs, including 296 goals and 417 assists.
8. Ron Ellis
Ron Ellis played as a right winger for the Leafs from 1963 until 1981, having won a Stanley Cup with the team in 1967. His 640 career points make him the eighth top scorer for the Leafs, with 332 goals and 308 assists across his time with the franchise.
9. William Nylander
The last active player to break our top ten, Swedish Forward William Nylander has proven to be one of the Leafs’ most valuable assets since joining in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He has scored 612 points for the team in the 11 seasons since, totalling 262 goals and 350 assists.
10. Frank Mahovlich
Nicknamed “The Big M” by fans, left winger Frank Mahovlich rounds out the Leafs’ top ten points scorers in history. From 1956 until 1968, when he moved to the Detroit Red Wings, Mahovlich earned 597 total points for the Leafs. These include 296 goals and 250 assists.

Who were the top Maple Leafs scorers in the most recent NHL season? Here are the ten players who secured the most points for the team in the 2024/2025 regular season:
1. Mitch Marner
Mitch Marner scored the most assists of any player on the Maple Leafs in the 2024-25 season with 75. His 27 goals bring him to a total of 102 points, making him the most prolific scorer on the team in the most recent NHL season.
2. William Nylander
The 2024-25 season’s top goalscorer for the Leafs was William Nylander, who put the puck in the back of the net 45 times, making him the second most prolific scorer in the league. His 39 assists combine to make 84 points for Toronto.
3. Auston Matthews
Another active player to have broken the all-time top ten is Auston Matthews, who bagged an impressive 78 points for the Leafs in the most recent season. This line consisted of 33 goals and 45 assists.
4. John Tavares
John Tavares has the most career points scored of any player on the Maple Leafs following his previous success with the New York Islanders, but he was the fourth most prolific points scorer for Toronto last season. He scored 38 goals and 36 assists.
5. Morgan Rielly
The active player with the most games for the Maple Leafs to his name, Morgan Rielly is one of the team’s top defenders, as well as one of their best scorers. In the 2024-25 season, he only scored 7 goals, but his 34 assists combine for a total of 41 points.
6. Max Domi
With 8 goals and 25 assisists, Max Domi ranks as the 6th highest scoring player on the Maple Leafs from the previous season. He has only been playing for the Leafs since 2023, but has already played two solid seasons with the team.
7. Oliver Ekman-Larsson
After signing with the Maple Leafs last season, Swedish defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson finished as their 7th highest scoring player. He totalled 4 goals, but his 25 assists earn him a place on the list with 29 overall points.
8. Jake McCabe
Jake McCabe scored the fewest goals last season of any of our top ten, with just 2. However, his teamwork saw him earn 21 assists for the Leafs, totalling 23 points overall. This makes him the 8th highest scoring player of the team’s last season.
9. Steven Lorentz
After winning a Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers, Steven Lorentz departed to join the Leafs last season, where he earned a total of 19 points. With 8 goals and 11 assists over the course of the season, he more than doubled his scoreline from his time on the Panthers.
10. Christopher Tanev
Defenceman Christopher Tanev rounds out the top ten highest scoring Maple Leafs players of the 2024-25 season. He scored 3 goals and provided 15 assists for a grand total of 18 points across the regular season.
