You need to log in to each of your subscription services in Prime Video in order for them to all activate. Once you do, you don’t need to do it again.
Prime Video makes it simple to keep all of your subscriptions together because they give you the ability to do so. There is a subscription page at the top of the home screen that lets you keep all of your subscriptions in one place. It also suggests possible titles to watch and what streaming services they are on, such as Max thrillers or Paramount+ series.

The biggest downside to using subscriptions on Prime Video is that you can never actually get everything in one place. Netflix and Hulu are two of the biggest streaming services in the world and neither of them can bundle with Prime. Even if you have Paramount+, Max, or MGM+ all linked through Prime Video, you’ll still need to use Netflix’s app to access Netflix content. The same goes for Hulu or Disney+, as neither are part of Prime Video’s ecosystem.
The biggest perk, obviously, is that you don’t need to log in to different streaming apps in order to find your content.
You’re solving some of the issue, but not the whole problem if you have a lot of subscriptions to keep track of. Some will say having most of them in one place is better than them all scattered, but it still requires extra work to catch up on everything.
Another downside to Prime Video’s layout is its small differences between content that can be purchased or rented and content that you can watch because you have Prime Video. Though there is a small indicator icon, it’s not very obvious, and you could easily be charged for something you may not have wanted to pay for.
In addition, the titles that are “included with Prime” change frequently, so if you have them saved on your watch list, they could go from included to costing you money if you watch them at the wrong time. Some of the biggest discounts on streaming services through Prime Video are only available at certain times of year, such as their big events like Prime Day or Black Friday.

Should you use add-on subscriptions on Prime Video?

At the end of the day, what you want to do with your streaming experience is up to you. Prime Video does make a lot of sense, especially if you use a lot of the streaming services that can be added on. If you’re not using Netflix or Hulu much, you don’t really need to worry about not being able to get them through Prime Video. If you do mostly use a service that isn’t provided by Prime Video, it can be annoying to have to go in and out of apps to watch what you want.
It’s important to assess how and where you do most of your watching, and if your evenings can be made more convenient by getting your shows and movies delivered via Prime Video. Prime Video does make it simpler to find what you want under one roof. It’s all a matter of how much you want to take advantage of it.
