What are you up to this weekend? We just dropped Anton off at sleepaway camp in Vermont — his very first time! I’ve been thinking about him non-stop and hope he’s having fun. Any tips from experienced parents for how to calm your own nerves? I never went growing up, so it’s all new to me. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few links from around the web…

Do you get hangry?

I’ve been wearing these perfect pants while traveling.

And these relaxed jeans on dates with a handsome gentleman;)

Skills you need as President or skills you need as a stepmom?

This London basement apartment is the best kind of wonky.

33 fun life tips. “Whenever you’re asked to guess a number (how much money someone saved, how many miles they ran, how long they needed to wait at the DMV…), be conservative. The person asking wants to surprise you.”

Fashion designer Somsack Sikhounmuong always has lunch with his colleagues. “No matter how busy it is in the office, we make it a point to eat together. The idea of sitting down, taking a moment, and busting out all the food is nice to me… It’s the equivalent of the water cooler, but this is the lunch table.” (NYMag)

What to do with all that zucchini.

Made me laugh.

Also, tomorrow I’m sending an Ask Me Anything issue of our newsletter Big Salad, including what it was like to sleep with someone for the first time after my divorce, eeps! Paywalled for obvious reasons, but it’s just $6/month (plus, all the archives), if you’re in the mood for girl talk.

Plus, three reader comments:

Says Kristen on Erika Veurink’s week of outfits: “I’m 5’11, and in every photo throughout my teens and 20s, I’m hunching or crouching. Now that I have a tall daughter, I’ve decided to own my height. People comment on my height, and hers, all the time, and while I still resent that a stranger needs to make unsolicited remarks, I’ve learned to reply to ‘You’re so tall’ with a genuine ‘Thank you so much!’ as if it’s the highest compliment. I hope my daughter won’t feel like she ever needs to take up less space in the world.”

Says Brianna on what makes you thirsty: “Recently, my very stoic husband left me three missed calls on his way to work. I was busy wrangling our kids, but when I finally rang him back, worried there was some emergency, he told me to run to the garden because there was an amazing rainbow. We live in Ireland, where there are constant rainbows, and he generally couldn’t care less. But he knows I love spotting them and was frantic to make sure I didn’t miss a good one. After 15 years together, my naturally unobservant love now points out ‘Look!, isn’t that beautiful?’ while darting uncertain, hopeful glances at me.”

Says Ally on what’s everyone reading / watching / listening to: “I’m SO PSYCHED for the Olympics. Anthony Edwards on the men’s basketball team is an absolute delight. Also cannot wait for Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, the whole women’s team. And Katie Ledecky and Quincy Wilson (track star, he’s only 16). Gosh, I can’t wait.”
