Our NFL Week 17 four-fold includes some teams who can secure their divisional titles, as the NFL’s regular season approaches its conclusion.
The Christmas games are in the rearview mirror, but there are still 10 Sunday matches taking place in Week 17 of the NFL season, including a host of clashes which could have a significant bearing on the playoffs.
The pick of the 6pm action comes from Lucas Oil Stadium, where the Indianapolis Colts host the Jacksonville Jaguars in an all-AFC South battle, while the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles face off in a truncated late window at 9.25pm.
NFL Week 17 four-fold
- Pittsburgh Steelers -3.5 @ 1/1
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers -5.5 @ 10/11
- Over 48.5 points in Jacksonville @ Indianapolis @ 10/11
- Over 39.5 points in New Orleans @ Tennessee @ 20/21
In-form Steelers can clinch divisional crown
At 9-6 and with a two-win buffer over the Baltimore Ravens, the Pittsburgh Steelers know that a Week 17 win over the Cleveland Browns will be enough for them to finish on top of the AFC North with one game still remaining.
Mike Tomlin’s franchise have found form at the right time, going on a three-game winning run with victories over the Ravens, Dolphins and Lions, all by at least five points.
Cleveland’s strong defence will test Aaron Rodgers, who will be without suspended receiver DK Metcalf, but, given they’ve lost their last four by an average of 12.75 points, it’s hard to see the Browns keeping this close.
Bucs should find more when it matters most
Three straight losses by no more than four points have seriously hampered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ hopes of reaching the postseason, but their challenge could receive a shot in the arm against the eliminated Miami Dolphins.
The 7-8 Bucs came up short against NFC South rivals Carolina last week, and their offensive output has undeniably regressed as the season has worn on, but their opponents appear ill-equipped to stop any team at present.
The Dolphins have effectively thrown in the towel for the year, benching Tua Tagovailoa to find out what Quinn Ewers has to offer at quarterback – which is not much judging by last week’s 45-21 loss at home to Cincinnati.
Lucas Oil clash could catch fire
The 11-4 Jacksonville Jaguars are purring and will be hoping to move closer to the AFC South title when they travel to divisional rivals Indianapolis in what could turn into a shootout.
The Jags’ last three games have featured points totals of 55, 68 and 54, with Trevor Lawrence and his impressive offence doing the lion’s share of the scoring on each occasion, including in a Week 14 win over the Colts.
Indianapolis has suffered two losses since bringing Philip Rivers back at QB after five years out of the NFL, but they scored 27 points in defeat against San Francisco on Monday and can contribute to an entertaining contest.
Points can pile up in Tennessee
New Orleans and Tennessee have been eliminated, but both teams look keen to finish the 2025 campaign on a high, with the Saints on a three-game winning run and the Titans beating the Browns and the Chiefs in recent weeks.
Improving offensive play has been a feature for both franchises – the Saints diced the Jets’ defence in last week’s 29-6 triumph, while the Titans have averaged 27 points from their last three outings.
With that in mind, it’s hard to see why this total is under the 40-point barrier. Expect that to be eclipsed at Nissan Stadium.
