There’s a bumper day of racing to look forward to on Saturday and we have picked out four bets across the UK and Ireland in a Lucky 15.

Another busy and exciting Saturday is in store for racing fans with Newmarket the clear highlight as it plays host to four Group races, including the Group 1 Dewhurst.

There’s also Premier Raceday action from York and there’s some good quality jumps racing from Chepstow, Hexham and Fairyhouse in Ireland.

Naas completes the set of afternoon fixtures with a seven-race Flat card before we go under the lights at Wolverhampton in the evening.

Saturday Lucky 15 racing tips

  • 13:35 Chepstow – Ammes @ 1/1
  • 15.55 York – Morshdi @ 5/2
  • 17:05 York – Dark Moon Rising @ 16/1
  • 18:20 Wolverhampton – Good Earth @ 11/4

13:35 Chepstow – Ammes @ 1/1

James Owen’s Ammes was useful over middle distances on the Flat and he looked to translate much of that ability to hurdles when brushing aside the reopposing Lunar Orbit on his jumps debut at Sedgefield at the end of the last month.

Currently rated 90 on the level, he looked a natural over hurdles and came readily clear of Warren Greatrex’s runner on the run-in, justifying long odds-on favouritism in the process.

He’s got a 7lb penalty to shoulder on this occasion, but he’s an exciting prospect and should prove up to the task for his in-form trainer.

15.55 York – Morshdi @ 5/2

The market spoke favourably for William Haggas’ Morshdi on his introduction at Sandown last month and, while he came up short, he showed plenty under a considerate ride and could take a big step forward with that experience behind him.

A brother to Group 2 staying winner Nakeel and 1m2f UAE scorer, Elraaed, 7f was always likely to be on the sharp side for him, despite the testing conditions, and he was in trouble a fair way out as the more experienced winner controlled proceedings on the front.

However, he rallied nicely under only hands-and-heels from Cieren Fallon and hit the line strongly, so should relish this extra furlong.

17:05 York – Dark Moon Rising @ 16/1

Kevin Ryan’s Dark Moon Rising finished off strongly from an unpromising position over this course-and-distance last month and fond memories of this track could bring the best out of him on Saturday.

The six-year-old, a five-timer winner in a 38-race career, won twice last season, but he’s found things much tougher in the main this year, the Night Of Thunder gelding coming here on a losing run of 10. However, he’s come down the weights as a result and is now 4lb lower than his last success.

A winner on the Knavesmire in 2023, he’s performed well on his two visits here this season and the forecast good ground should be ideal.

18:20 Wolverhampton – Good Earth @ 11/4

Just about everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong for Michael Herrington’s Good Earth at Sandown two starts ago, yet the eight-year-old was still able to finish second, suggesting he’s going to be a big player off his significantly lower AW mark.

Slowly away after the blindfold was removed late at the Esher track, he was then short of room at various stages under Silvestre De Sousa and did really well to get up for a place.

Poorly drawn at Beverley last time, a line can easily be put through that, and he’s 6lb lower on the AW than turf currently, enabling him to contest a Class 6 contest for the first time in four years.
