Maysville, Kentucky – July 4th 2020

While on a July 4th road trip, we stopped for a short time in Maysville, Kentucky. My son in law recorded some drone videos. Since it was a holiday and with the Covid-19 shut downs, most everything was closed. We recorded very little in Maysville. I felt it was well worth trying to share his videos of this lovely city. This will be a return trip for us to explore.

I really didn’t know much about Maysville, Kentucky, until after visiting with my daughter and son in law. He wanted to record a drone video of the town. The beautiful, historic town of Maysville, Kentucky, is located on the Ohio River, 50 miles southeast of Cincinnati, Ohio. Frontiersmen, Simon Kenton, and Daniel Boone are among the city’s founders. Maysville was a producer of bourbon whiskey, hemp, Tabaco, and wrought iron. It has long been a cross roads for Native Americans, early settlers, and was one of the routes, of the Under Ground Railroad. The historic John Rankin House is located nearby, in Ripley, Ohio. A few of the of home town celebrities were, super stars, Rosemary and Sister Betty Clooney. The Russell Theatre was the site of the 1953 world premiere, of Rosemary Clooney’s first film, “The Stars are Singing.” This area of Kentucky and Ohio is a prime vacation area to explore. There is much more to see, learn, and do….. and Yes, I will be returning.

Have A Great Day
