Kentucky Tobacco as a Tool Against Ebola and For Economic Growth
Presented by Hugh Haydon, President, Kentucky BioProcessing, Inc.
Owensboro based Kentucky Bioprocessing, Inc. (KBP) recently made global news for its role in developing a treatment against the deadly Ebola virus. The circumstances under which the product was developed and the use of tobacco in its production provide a potent illustration of the benefits and how innovation can occur in small communities away from major research centers. Haydon will discuss the history of KBP and the Ebola product, its production process and what its success means for Kentucky.
