Kentucky State Fair resumes normal hours after false shooting incident

Officials from the Kentucky State Fair Board announced Sunday that operations will continue as normal after noise-making devices initially believed to be gunfire went off near the midway Saturday night, forcing festivities to shut down early.

Board officials said in a statement that an altercation broke out in front of the midway around 9:20 p.m. Attendees who heard the noise immediately fled the area as troopers from the Kentucky State Police and the Kentucky State Fair Police went to the scene. No injuries were reported.
